Srinagar, Oct 26: Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti was re-elected as the president of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). The proposal to nominate Mufti for the position was put forth by Vice President and Senior PDP leader Abdul Rehman Veeri, and it was seconded by Ghulam Nabi Hanjura. Mufti’s election to the position was confirmed for a three-year term through a voice vote, as reported by a senior party leader. The process of the election through voice vote was conducted as per the party’s procedures.
The PDP spokesperson had earlier shared on Twitter, “Vice President A R Veeri has proposed the name of @MehboobaMufti as the President, seconded by General Secretary G N L Hanjura. Election process through voice vote underway.” This re-election signifies Mufti’s continued leadership within the party for the next three years.
