Rajouri Establishes More Than 20 Veterinary First-Aid Camps for Migratory Tribal Communities in Jammu and Kashmir

Rajouri : The Department of Sheep and Animal Husbandry in Rajouri establishes over 20 Veterinary First Aid Medical Camps for migratory tribal communities, specifically the Gujjar and Bakkarwal, across different locations within the Rajouri district. These camps are strategically placed along the travel routes taken by these communities as they journey from the higher reaches of Pirpanjal to various areas within the Rajouri district.

Chief of the Animal Sheep Husbandry Department in Rajouri, PP Sadhotra, emphasized that more than 20 veterinary first aid camps have been arranged along these routes, offering necessary care to animals. The para-veterinary staff is stationed at these camps, equipped with essential medicines, vaccinations, and treatments for sheep and goats.

Furthermore, Reshta Khanum, an officer from the Veterinary Department, stated that the veterinary teams are also engaged in raising awareness among the migratory tribal communities about various schemes initiated by the Government of Jammu and Kashmir and the Government of India, which are designed to benefit these communities.

The first aid camps for the Gujjar and Bakkarwal communities have been positioned at multiple locations, including Dehra Galli, Thanna Mandi, Dharhal, Sam Samit, Potha Sial Sui Kandi, Budhal, and Kalakote areas within the Rajouri district.

In other news, breaking stereotypes and promoting women’s empowerment in the field of motorsports, the Kashmir Valley hosted the inaugural JK AUTOX WOMEN event. This was the first-ever Women-Only Autocross event in the region, aimed at challenging conventions and supporting women’s participation in motorsports.
