Senior Congress leader Sonia Gandhi will take center stage at the DMK’s women’s conference, ‘Magalir Urimai Maanadu,’ scheduled for Saturday. This conference is a part of the DMK’s centenary celebrations in honor of the late party patriarch and former Chief Minister, M. Karunanidhi.
MP Kanimozhi Karunanidhi, the head of the DMK women’s wing, stated that the conference’s primary focus will be urging the Centre to promptly implement the 33 percent reservation for women.
Sonia Gandhi’s participation in the event is seen as a significant sign of camaraderie between the Congress and DMK, and her presence is expected to give a substantial boost to the conference and, by extension, the DMK.
K.S. Alagiri, the president of the Tamil Nadu Congress Committee (TNCC) and a senior Congress leader, mentioned that Sonia Gandhi may also hold meetings with party members, including MPs and MLAs, on the sidelines of the event.
