Poonch, October 11: Agniveer Soldier Fatally Shot Along LoC in J&K’s Poonch District.

Officials reported that an Agniveer soldier lost his life due to a gunshot wound near the Line of Control (LoC) in the Mankote sector of Poonch district in Jammu and Kashmir. The incident occurred while Sepoy (Agniveer) Amritpal Singh was on sentry duty near the LoC in the Mankote area of Mendhar sub-division within Poonch district. Tragically, he succumbed to his injuries on the spot.

Subsequently, a police team arrived at the scene to conduct necessary legal procedures, after which the soldier’s body was transported to a hospital for a postmortem examination.

A police official, confirming the incident, stated that an investigation was underway to determine whether the gunshot was accidental or potentially a case of suicide.
