PRI members organises cleanliness drive of water bodies on Gandhi Jayanti in Bhaderwah

Bhaderwah, Oct 02:To pay tributes to Father of Nation on his Birth Anniversary known as Gandhi Jyanti, PRI members along with students and locals organised cleanliness drive in water bodies and religious places in Jammu and Kashmir’s Butla Panchayat in Additional District Bhaderwah on Monday.

Continuation of the Gandhi Jayanti celebration, Sarpanch Butla Panchayat of Bhaderwah Parveen Jaryal organized cleanliness drive of water Bodies Neeru River followed by religious places including Mosque, Temple, Shamshanghat, graveyard and other places.

The event was held at Butla Panchayat, where BDC Chairman Bhaderwah Omi Chand was the chief guest, in which beside PRI members and locals, students of Govt UPS Butla participated.

Sarpanch Butla Parveen Jaryal said that this initiative aimed to promote cleanliness and raise awareness about the rejuvenation of water bodies, which is real tributes to Mahatma Gandhi on Gandhi Jayanti.

“It reflects our commitment towards clean and healthy environment. it promote cleanliness and sustainability, aligning with the principles of Mahatma Gandhi, whose birth anniversary is being celebrated,” Jaryal said.

The focus of the cleanliness drive was the Neeru River and other water body.

During the cleanliness drive, tbey actively collected plastic waste that had been discarded near the water body.

They also worked to remove algal blooms, twigs, dead leaves, and silt from the bottom of the water body.
