New Delhi: The Finance Ministry has officially announced that, effective October 1, the amended GST law provisions for the taxation of e-gaming, casinos, and horse racing will come into effect. In accordance with the modifications made to the Central GST Act, these transactions will now be categorized as “actionable claims,” aligning them with lottery, betting, and gambling, and will be subject to a 28% Goods and Services Tax (GST) based on the full face value of the bets.
