Restoration of statehood to J&K only way out to redress public grievances: NC

Jammu:28-8-23: Coordinator Jammu District (Urban) and Zonal Secretary JKNC, Dr. Vikas Sharma today held a meeting with youth stressing upon them the imperative need to continue fighting until the mission for restoration of statehood is achieved.

Explaining the youth, Dr. Vikas Sharma said that the BJP people have cheated the youth during the last nine years as they have done nothing constructive for creating employment for the youth, rather the recent recruitment process done by LG Govt was replete with massive scams leading to cancelation of selection lists, he added.

He further said that at this time, the people of Jammu and Kashmir are being harassed, new laws are being made every day with people are subjected to desperation and hopelessness. If fact, there is policy paralysis with no foolproof mechanism put in place to minimise, rather stop the multiple difficulties of educated unemployed youth.

Slamming the JK Govt, he said that those who raise their voice against the faulty policies of the Govt, their genuine voice is suppressed by iron hands and harassed by different agencies implicating them in false cases, he bemoaned.

Snubbing the policy of BJP for paving way of corrupt politicians of non BJP into BJP party, Dr Vikas said that this speaks of BJP double standards to eliminate strong opposition from the political scene of India, which is formidable for healthy democracy in the country. Thus we all have to join hands together to struggle hard to restore democracy, he stressed.

Further, Dr. Vikas Sharma said that he strongly opposed the installation of smart meters and charging of toll illegally at Saroor Toll Plaza. The National Conference will keep on raising the issues of the people including uprooting the Sarore Toll Plaza illegally installed there as well the issue of installing smart electric meters giving huge power bills beyond the capacity of commoners to pay.

He maintained that the fight for restoration of statehood to J&K shall be the foremost agenda of the party. People of J&K have suffered a lot during the past four years since the abolition of statehood. He said that NC is fighting and will continue its fight till restoration of statehood to Jammu and Kashmir.

Now, they want to get rid of bureaucratic rule and waiting for the popularly elected government,” Dr Sharma further said. He maintained that bureaucratic rule is no substitute for the popularly elected government.

He said that unemployment is at an all time high in the present scenario which is the root cause of depression and anxiety among the young generation following which it is becoming a drug addict.

He further said NC had always worked to provide more and more employment opportunities to the youth of Jammu and Kashmir. Various employment schemes like Rehbar-e-Talim, Rehbar-e-Khel, Rehbar-e-Zirat etc were launched by the NC government.
