New Delhi, July 8: India has recorded an increase of 49 new COVID-19 infections in a single day, bringing the total count of active cases in the country to 1,463, according to the latest data from the Union Health Ministry. As of 8 am, the death toll due to the disease has reached 5,31,912.
The total number of coronavirus infections in India stands at 4.49 crore (4,49,94,543), as reported by the ministry. The national COVID-19 recovery rate is currently at 98.81 percent, with 4,44,61,168 individuals having successfully recuperated from the disease. The case fatality rate stands at 1.18 percent.
The ministry’s website reveals that a total of 220.66 crore vaccine doses have been administered across the country as part of the nationwide COVID-19 vaccination drive.
