Kishtwar: Special Investigation Unit (SIU) of Kishtwar Police raids houses of terrorists in Kishtwar, who are operating from Pakistan or Pok in connection with terror funding.
According to SSP Kishtwar Khalil Poswal, the raids are carried out in accordance with the non-bailable warrants obtained from Special NIA Court against Kishtwar-based terrorists who are operating from Pakistan and PoK.
“The raids are part of mission to dismantling the terror funding network especially those operating from Pok and Pakistan,” said SSP Poswal.
Kishtwar Police’s SIU led by senior officers conducting raids in far-off areas as well as in town area of Kishtwar since morning.

SSP Kishtwar Khalil Poswal informed that the raids are being conducted in total 6 places of the district including Singpura, Beighpura, Sewa and Deller areas of Chatroo, Naryan area of Chingam and Umar Mohalla of Kishtwar town.
The Special Investigation Unit of the Kishtwar Police carried out raids at six locations including in the houses of Manzoor Ahmed S/o Ghulam Ali R/o Singpura Chatroo, Nazir ahmed s/o Mohd Akbar Sheikh r/o Beighpura Singhpura Chatroo, Shabir Ahmed S/o Gh mohd rishi r/o sewa Chatroo, Mohd iqbal rishi s/o Ab rashid r/o deller Chatroo, Mohd Amin Bhatt s/o Gh Qadir Bhatt r/o Naryan Chingam and Mohd Iqbal s/o Mohd Akber r/o Kichloo market Kishtwar At present Umar Mohalla Kishtwar.

According to SSP Kishtwar, coordinated searches began at around 8 a.m. Digital evidence along with hard copy of documents are being thoroughly analysed.
“The raids are being conducted in case FIR No 227/2022, in which NIA court has issued non bailable warrants against 36 Kishtwar based Militants operating from Pok and Pakistan,” SSP added.
SSP Kishtwar informed that a total 22 houses of militants operating from Pok and Pakistan have been raided since last two months after getting non-bailable warrants against 36 Kishtwar based militants operating from Pok and Pakistan.
“Smartphones through which militants contact their family members and friends have been seized during raids,” SSP added.
“Families and friends in constant touch with militants operating from PoK/Pakistan, action against them will be initiated under UAPA,” SSP Kishtwar Khalil Poswal said on raids by SIU in Kishtwar and Chatroo.
No news of arrest of any person or attachment of any property has been reported so far.
During the course of searches, the evidences collected shall be investigated so as to subject the accused persons to judicial determination for their involvement in anti-national activities and perpetuation of terrorism.

SSP Kishtwar further disclosed that all those supporter/associates of terrorists whose involvement surfaces during investigations shall also be prosecuted.
SSP Kishtwar further said that searches are aimed at eliminating the militant ecosystem in the district by identifying various over-ground workers and supporters of militancy.
