Bhadarwah, June 30:- Eid-ul-Adha, the festival of sacrifice was celebrated across Chenab Valley with full religious fervor and gaiety on Thursday with thousands of Muslims thronged different Eidgahs and Jamia Masjids to offer special Eid prayers on the occasion.
Bakra Eid is being celebrated with great religious fervour and enthusiasm, to commemorate the supreme sacrifice of Prophet Ibrahim (peace be upon him).
The day begun with special prayers for the peace, progress and well-being of the Ummah and religious processions were also taken out.
It is notable that Eid-ul-Adha is being celebrated with full religious fervor after two years of pandemic restrictions.
From morning people started assembling in the premisses of Jamia Masjid Bhadarwah where from they marched towards historical Eidgah in the form of huge proccession while chanting religious slogans. Large number of people also participated in Eid prayers at Gatha Eidgah as well, where Mufti Ayub held special prayers.
President Anjuman Islamia Bhadarwah Pervaiz Sheikh while speaking on the occasion, greeted the people on the eve of Eid-Ul-Adha and said this Eid is a great day in the history of Islam. It teaches sacrificing every thing in the way of God, helping poor and needy is the message of Eid. He also prayed for peace, prosperity and brotherhood.
He also urged upon the Muslim Community to be united and help all needy people on this occasion.
At the end special prayer was also offered by the Jamia Masjid Imam to bring Joy,prosperity, brotherhood, communal harmony in the UT as well as country as a whole.
Children were a happy lot as they got ‘Eidi’ (Eid donation) from their elders and then, wearing fancy dresses, made their ways to garden and parks after the prayers.
Security has been beefed-up at Bhadarwah and it’s peripheral areas on the eve of Eid-ul-Adha by the administration.
On the occasion, ADC Bhadarwah Dil Mir Choudhary, SSP Doda Abdul Qayoom, SDPO Bhadarwah Waseem Mehmood, SHO Bhadarwah Jatinder Singh Rakwal were also present on the occasion.
At Kishtwar,hundreds of people including young,elder and childrens offer Eid Namaz(prayer) in the famous Chowgan ground Kishtwar. SSP Kishtwar Khalil Poswal and DC Kishtwar Dr Devansh Yadav were present on the occasion.
On the occasion people seek blessings of almighty for the betterment of the nation and special prayer to bring communal Harmony and brotherhood was also observed.
In Ramban,people assembled in the Eidgah Ramban and offered Eid Prayer to take blessings of almighty.
People of Doda and its adjoining areas assembled in their respective Eid Gahs to offer prayer of Eid-Ul-Adha.
DC Doda Vishesh Pal Mahajan and SSP Doda Abdul Qayoom were also present, who greeted people on the occasion.
Vice-Chairperson DDC Doda Sangeeta Bhagat also greeted people on the auspicious occasion of Eid-ul-Adha.
