Mumbai, June 22 : Sylvester daCunha, the visionary behind the iconic ‘Amul Girl,’ breathed his last on Tuesday night in Mumbai. The sad news was confirmed by Jayen Mehta, Managing Director of Gujarat Co-operative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF), the owner of the Amul dairy brand. daCunha, along with his wife Nisha, played a pivotal role in creating the famous ‘Utterly Butterly’ movement for Amul in 1966, which introduced the beloved ‘Amul Girl’ to the world. The campaign quickly gained popularity and continues to captivate audiences with its witty and timely messages. Sylvester daCunha’s contribution to the Indian advertising industry and his long association with Amul since the 1960s have made him a respected figure in the field. The Amul family joins in mourning the loss of this doyen of advertising.
