Active Caseload in India Drops to 3,502 as Fresh Cases Total 237

New Delhi, June 3: India witnessed a slight increase in COVID-19 cases with 237 fresh infections reported in a single day. However, the number of active cases continued to decline and now stands at 3,502, according to the latest update from the Union health ministry.

The death toll due to the virus has reached 5,31,878, with four additional fatalities, including two reconciled by Kerala, as per the ministry’s data updated on Saturday at 8 am. The total tally of COVID-19 cases in India has surpassed 4.49 crore (4,49,91,380).

The active cases currently constitute a mere 0.01 percent of the total infections, while the national recovery rate stands at an impressive 98.81 percent, as reported on the health ministry’s website. The number of individuals who have successfully recovered from the disease has exceeded 4.44 crore (4,44,56,000), and the case fatality rate remains at 1.18 percent.

In terms of vaccination progress, the nationwide drive has administered a staggering 220.66 crore COVID-19 vaccine doses, according to the ministry’s website.
