Jammu, June 02 : In a significant operation, security forces successfully neutralized a terrorist in an encounter that took place in the Dassal forest area of Rajouri district, Jammu and Kashmir. The encounter occurred on Friday morning, and details are still emerging.
Army officials confirmed the elimination of the terrorist and stated that a search operation is currently underway in the area. The operation highlights the ongoing efforts of security forces to combat terrorism in the region.
In a separate incident in Baramulla, two individuals associated with the banned outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) were arrested by security forces. Acting on specific intelligence, a Mobile Vehicle Checkpoint (MVCP) was set up at the Frestihar Waripora crossing. The arrested individuals, identified as Suhail Gulzar and Waseem Ahmad Pata, were apprehended in Frestihar Kreeri village while attempting to evade the checkpoint.
The police seized two Chinese Pistols, two pistol magazines, and fifteen live pistol rounds from the arrested individuals. A case has been registered under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act and Arms Act at Kreeri police station.
