DODA, MAY 29: MVD Doda, along with Traffic Police Doda, led a comprehensive vehicle checking drive at 9th Km in the Bagar area of Doda District. ARTO Doda, Rajesh Gupta, his team, and DTI Doda meticulously inspected vehicles commuting NH244 (Jammu-Doda National Highway). The aim of the operation was to ensure compliance with the provisions of the Motor Vehicle Act, 1988.
During the thorough checking drive, the team emphasized the importance of adhering to traffic rules and carrying valid vehicular documents. Drivers were urged to comply with the regulations and keep their vehicle papers up to date. Load carriers and public transport operators were specifically directed to operate within the prescribed carrying capacity mentioned in their registration certificates.
ARTO Doda has issued a stern warning, stating that any driver found driving recklessly, overloading vehicles, overcharging passengers, or violating route permits would face serious consequences. In such instances, their permits would be suspended or even cancelled altogether. This measure aims to ensure the safety and well-being of both drivers and passengers, as well as for maintaining law and order on the roads of Doda District.
Pertinent to mention that cameras are being installed at Assar naka, Pul Doda bridge, and the speed of the vehicles shall be monitored through these cameras. Those found violating speed limit shall be facing legal action. The groundwork has been completed, and the cameras are to installed and used by ending june.
