Doda, May 27; MVD Doda led by ARTO Doda Rajesh Gupta, along with MVD inspector CM Sharma and his team, conducted a major enforcement drive on National Highway 244, Doda-Batote road up to Km 9, today. During the checking, more than 150 vehicles were checked for documents, fitness, and other required details under Motor Vehicles Act.
During the checking, the team of MVD Doda challaned 23 vehicles for various violations of traffic rules. Also 05 vehicles were compounded, and a fine of Rs 5500 was realized on the spot.
The main focus of the drive was to check overloading in the vehicles, overspeeding/rash driving and to create awareness among the driver to follow traffic rules for safe plying on the roads especially in the hilly roads and to avoid any untoward incidents.
Giving detail of the violations for which the vehicles have been challaned ARTO Doda informed that vehichles challaned today include; vehicles carrying goods on passengers vehicle; vehichles plying without Permit or Driving licence of the driver; SLD not working; Alterations on the body; Driving without seat belt; Without PUC; Without uniform; Plying out of their permitted routs etc.
