Heavy Rains Prompt Closure of Schools up to Class 8 in Jammu and Kashmir’s Ramban

Jammu, May 8 : Due to heavy rains in Jammu and Kashmir’s Ramban district, all schools for students up to class 8 were closed on Monday, according to officials. Reports also indicated fresh snowfall in the upper reaches of Kishtwar, Doda, and Ramban.

Ramban Deputy Commissioner Mussarat Islam stated, “In view of heavy rains, all schools, including government and private institutions, up to the middle level (Class 8) in Ramban district, will remain closed today.” However, he clarified that any scheduled exams would proceed as planned.

Reports further mentioned that the districts of Kishtwar, Doda, and Ramban experienced a cold wave as the upper regions received fresh snowfall overnight.
