New Delhi, May 5: The Union Health Ministry of India reported 3,611 new Covid-19 cases, resulting in a total case tally of 4.49 crore (4,49,64,289). The number of active cases decreased from 36,244 to 33,232, and the death toll reached 5,31,642 with 36 additional deaths, including nine reconciled by Kerala. The ministry also stated that 220.66 crore doses of Covid vaccine have been administered in the country under the nationwide vaccination drive, while the national Covid-19 recovery rate remained at 98.74%. The active cases now make up 0.07% of the total infections, and the case fatality rate was recorded at 1.18%.
