New Delhi, May 3 : The Supreme Court (SC) Collegium has recommended a Parsi lawyer as a judge for the Bombay High Court, despite objections raised by the Intelligence Bureau (IB). The lawyer’s nomination was approved by the collegium, which comprises five of the country’s top judges. The collegium reportedly reviewed the IB’s concerns and found them to be without merit. The Parsi lawyer is now set to become the first from the community to be appointed as a judge to the Bombay High Court. The decision is expected to be a significant milestone in the legal fraternity and will pave the way for greater diversity in the judiciary.
