SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir’s Goods and Services Tax (GST) collections have witnessed a significant increase of Rs. 215.77 crore compared to the same period last year. In April 2021, the GST collections stood at Rs. 479.71 crore, up from Rs. 263.94 crore collected in April 2020. The increase in collections is seen as a positive sign for the region’s economy, which has been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. The improvement in GST collections can be attributed to the increased economic activities and the government’s efforts to boost the region’s economy. The authorities have also been urging businesses to comply with the GST regulations and ensure timely filing of returns. The increase in GST collections is a welcome development for the region, and the authorities are hopeful that this trend will continue in the coming months.
