Country’s active Covid cases drop to 61,013, showing a decline

New Delhi, Apr 26 : On April 26th, the Union Health Ministry released updated data indicating that India has reported 9,629 new COVID-19 infections, while the number of active cases has decreased to 61,013 from 63,380. The death toll has risen to 5,31,398 with 29 new deaths, including 10 reconciled by Kerala. The daily positivity rate stands at 5.38%, and the weekly positivity rate at 5.61%. India’s COVID-19 case tally has reached 4.49 crore. According to the ministry, active cases now represent 0.14% of the total infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate is at 98.68%. The number of people who have recovered from the disease has increased to 4,43,23,045, and the case fatality rate has been recorded at 1.18%. The ministry’s website indicates that India has administered 220.66 crore doses of COVID-19 vaccines so far as part of its nationwide vaccination drive.
