UNITED NATIONS: India’s Permanent Ambassador to the United Nations, Ruchira Kamboj, dismissed Pakistan’s raised issue of Jammu and Kashmir at a Security Council meeting as “mischievous,” stating that she would not waste the Council’s time by responding to such remarks. Kamboj’s statement came during the UN Security Council’s open debate on ‘Maintenance of international peace and security: Effective multilateralism through the defence of the principles of the Charter of the United Nations,’ which was chaired by Russia, the President of the Council for April. Pakistan’s Permanent Representative, Munir Akram, brought up Jammu and Kashmir during his statement, causing Kamboj to respond sternly. India has consistently informed the international community that the scrapping of Article 370 was an internal matter. India has urged Pakistan to recognize the reality and stop all anti-India propaganda, while also expressing its desire for normal neighborly relations with Islamabad in an environment free of terror, hostility, and violence.
