Judicial inquiry committee established by Uttar Pradesh government to investigate the death of Atiq Ahmed’s son

New Delhi, Apr 24 : UP Govt forms judicial inquiry committees to probe the killing of Atiq Ahmed’s son and the murder of Atiq Ahmed and his brother Ashraf Ahmed. The two-member committee headed by Retired HC judge Rajeev Lochan Mehrotra and retired DG Vijay Kumar Gupta will probe the encounter killing of Asad, Atiq Ahmed’s son. Meanwhile, a three-member committee headed by retired Allahabad HC judge Arvind Kumar Tripathi will investigate the murder of Atiq Ahmed and his brother Ashraf Ahmed, while the other two members of the committee include retired judge Brijesh Kumar Soni and former DGP Subesh Kumar Singh. Both Atiq Ahmed and Ashraf Ahmed were shot dead by men posing as journalists while being taken for a medical examination in Prayagraj on April 15.
