India reports 12,193 new Covid-19 cases and 42 more fatalities

New Delhi, Apr 22: According to the Union Health Ministry’s latest data update on April 22, India has reported 12,193 new cases of COVID-19 within a 24-hour span, bringing the total caseload to 4,48,81,877. The number of active cases has risen to 67,556. The death toll has increased to 5,31,300, with 42 additional fatalities reported, including 10 from Kerala. The national COVID-19 recovery rate remains high at 98.66%, with 4,42,83,021 people having recovered from the virus. The case fatality rate stands at 1.18%. The country has administered 220.66 crore doses of anti-Covid vaccines so far.
