Srinagar-Ladakh Road experiences low traffic on April 18 and 19

Srinagar, Apr 19: The Traffic Police in Srinagar has announced that April 18 and 19 will be considered as “traffic dry days” on the Srinagar-Ladakh road due to the recurring snow avalanches. Motorists are being advised to avoid travel on the road during this period. The advisory was issued by Ravindar Pal Singh, SSP traffic rural, for those traveling on the Srinagar-Sonamarg-Gumri road. The widening of the road due to the frequent avalanches along the Sonamarg-Minimarg stretch is the reason behind the announcement. The advisory requests all Ladakh/Sonamarg bound motorists to refrain from traveling towards Sonamarg/Ladakh on the designated traffic dry days.
