The Directorate of Fire and Emergency Services organised a Free Medical Camp in collaboration with People’s Hut Foundation

A Free Medical Camp was today organised by the Directorate of Fire and Emergency Services in Collaboration with People’s Hut Foundation which is a National NGO working in the areas of Health and Education and was supported by the Directorate of Ayush. The Mega Free Medical camp was virtually inaugurated by Sh. Alok Kumar (IPS) DG Fire and Emergency Services in presence of Dr. Rohit Koul, Director and CEO of People’s Hut Foundation

The Camp Incharge were Sh. R.K Raina, Deputy Director, F&ES along with Sh. Kanwal Peshin, DFO Sub Command, and City Jammu. Dr. Dheeraj Raina (Medical Officer), Dr. Asha Sharma (Medical Officer), Vijay Bhat (Pharmacist) disbursed their services under the banner of Directorate of Ayush. The overall Medical Supervision was done by Dr. Anita Salgotra (Medical Officer – F&ES).

The other specialist doctors included Dr. Imran Khan (Orthopaedic Specialist), Dr. Hancy Sharma (Physiotherapist), Dr. Aditi Tickoo (Physiotherapist), Dr. Divya Sarotia (Sports Physiotherapist), Dr. Mehtab Singh Bhagat (Physician), Dr. K.K Thakur (Physician), Dr. Ritu Koul (Consultant Clinical Psychologist), Dr. Amardeep Singh (Chairman Diva Group).

The Free Lab Diagnostics Services were provided by Sure Diagnostic Specialized Lab Headed by Dr. Sumedha Mengi who is the Director and Chief Pathologist of Sure Diagnostic Specialized Lab. The volunteer support was provided by Parveen Choudhary and Rohit Manotra from RSHMI Foundation.

During the inaugural ceremony, Sh. Alok Kumar (IPS) in his address laid the stress on importance of Physical and Mental Health for all. He also appraised the importance of hygiene and other preventive health care measures in one’s life that can help a person in maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Besides, he advised the youth to refrain from taking illicit drugs. He also assured that in future Fire and Emergency Services department will organise more such medical camps in order to provide the basic as well as specialist health care facilities to its people with the like-minded organisation working in the health domain like People’s Hut Foundation.

General public of the area hailed the initiative and were satisfied with the services provided in the camp like free medicines and Free Diagnostic tests. People including the ladies, Children and senior citizens of the area gathered in large numbers for the health camp and more than 350 people took advantage of the camp, Dr. Rohit Koul told while briefing the media.

More than 350 patients including a large number of women along with their children were examined in the camp and were provided free medicines. Local people of these areas showed great enthusiasm and also appreciated the efforts and role of Fire and Emergency Services and People’s Hut Foundation for organising such camps.

These programmes are being held in connection with Fire Service Week (14th to 20th April-2023) under the overall command and control of Sh. Alok Kumar (IPS), Director Fire & Emergency Services J&K.
