New Delhi: Former Jammu and Kashmir governor Satya Pal Malik has refused to apologize to Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh’s (RSS) national executive member Ram Madhav, after he received a legal notice accusing him of making “defamatory statements” against Madhav. The legal notice was sent in response to an interview Malik gave to a YouTube channel on 8th April 2023, in which he alleged that when he was governor of J&K, Madhav had told him about the involvement of kickbacks worth INR 300 crore in clearing files for two projects. Madhav demanded an open and public apology from Malik within 48 hours of receipt of the notice, for the “mental agony and harassment faced by him”. Malik, however, stands by his 2021 claim of being offered a bribe of INR 300 crore by an RSS functionary to clear two files when he was the governor of J&K. He added that he would send a written response to the notice. The Central Bureau of Investigation is holding a probe into the allegations.
