Strengthen social bonding, tolerance: Narinder Sharma
RS Pura: Ramnavami-the birthday of Lord Shri Rama, was celebrated with religious fervour and gaiety in RS Pura. Devotees in large numbers thronged various temples in RS Pura since early morning to offer prayers and seek blessings of ‘Maryada Purshotam’. The temples were abuzz with large number of devotees paying their obeisance and participating in Bhajans and Kirtans. Temples were specially decorated with bunting and flags. The day also coincides with culmination of nine day long Navratra festival. Long queues of devotees, including men, women, and children were seen at various Durga temples since morning. Special prayers and Kanja Puja was also organized at temples.Young girls, dressed in their best, were invited by their neighbours for Kanjak Pujan. People also took part in the community Hawans organized at temples and households to mark the occasion. On this occasion Social Activist and PDP District Jammu Media Coordinator Narinder Sharma today participated in huge Langar which was attended by devotees in large numbers organized to mark Ram Navmi celebrations at Baggamarh in RS Pura. After payers and rituals, Sharma prayed for peace in J&K and said that such events bring people closer to each other.He congratulated organizers of Bhandara and asked them to strengthen their resolve and continue to serve community regularly. Extending his support to them, he promised that anything that would help the organizers in making Annual Bhandara more accessible to commoners will be extended. He also said that more such events must be organized to strength social bonding in J&K.
