In a statement Aam Aadmi Party leader & social activist Gurmeet Singh Baaghi strongly condemned the arrest of Delhi’s Deputy Chief Minister & Education Minister Manish Sisodia and alleged that the arrest of Manish Sisodia was an attempt to end democracy in India.
BJP is forcibly arresting opposition leaders to suppress issues like selling government properties, inflation and unemployment. The situation in India currently is like the Emergency imposed in 1975, during which those opposing the government were imprisoned.
Baaghi said that the Manish Sisodia arrest was one of the high-profile actions against an opposition leader, came after that of Satyendar Jain, Delhi’s then health minister, in June last year. Both AAP leaders have led what the AAP describes as the successful transformation of Delhi’s education and health services, contributing to the party’s popularity and continued electoral success.Although Central government investigators have been targeting Manish Sisodia for nearly a year, not a shred of evidence has been found to substantiate the allegations. No cash or any illegal documents have been found. Realizing that it is only the AAP that has the power to face the BJP and since the latter is unable to confront us politically, it is misusing its powers to create trouble like this. The AAP is flourishing all over the country. Several foreign nations have also appreciated the revolution in the education brought in by the Manish Sisodia in government schools across the national capital. But the BJP cannot tolerate this. Manish Sisodia as the Education Minister has built 25,000 state-of-the-art school rooms and laid a solid foundation for the future of around 20 lakh students. The BJP cannot tolerate people being in favour of AAP.
Baaghi strongly condemned the conspiracy hatched against Deputy CM & Education Minister Delhi Manish Sisodia and said that no democracy allows the reign of an autocrat for long.
