JAMMU: The Government of India is likely to auction the newly-found lithium reserves in Reasi, in a couple of months from now.
Earlier this month, the Geological Survey of India had found 5.9-million ton of Lithium in Reasi. The discovery of Lithium reserve was labelled as a boost to manufacturing of electric vehicles and solar panels in India.
The mines ministry is likely to commence the auction process, in the first quarter of the financial year 2023-24, beginning from April, officials informed.
However, the officials maintained that the Indian government may not allow export of Lithium to other countries of the world.
