Regularise all teaching staff Under SRO 940, Relieve the teachers from non-academic Activities – Thakur
Feb.11:- Sarnath (Varanasi) UP AKHIL Bharatiya Rashtriya Shaikshik Mahasangh demanded the states and Central government to relieve the teachers from non-academic activities. It said if they have to be engaged in some of the activities, that should not be other than the activities of national importance. The Mahasangh said, it is necessary for maintaining quality of education also. The decision to this effect was taken at the National Executive Committee meeting meeting of the Mahasangh, at Sarnath Varanasi here which was held in from February 11 to 12. In this meeting, the Mahasangh also urged the government to relieve the teachers from the task of managing mid-day scheme and engage the voluntary organisations, women groups, village Panchayats or self-help groups in such activities. The meeting also stressed the need to recruit teachers on permanent basis and fill the vacant posts immediately. The Mahasangh pointed out that over 10 lakh seats of the teachers are vacant all over the country. In reference to Jammu Kashmir, ABRSM National Auditor and Jammu Kashmir president Devraj Thakur urged the state government to adress the issues of teaching community particularly the regularise the services of all lectures under SRO 940 without any delay, those are waiting for it without any discrimination and implementation of ATD in the state.
Thakur stressed the need to implement the National Education Policy 2020 effectively and said its successful implementation will help achieving basic social and economic changes in the country. The Mahasangh also underlined several difficulties in effective implementation of the NEP and appealed to the government to remove the shortcomings forthwith. It also stressed the need to reform the teachers’ training system and insert the provisions in the system that could meet the requirement of the changing time.
