Alleging open loot by various coaching centres operating in Jammu city, the National Democratic PartyIndian (NDPI) has flayed the Government for maintaining silence over the same and demanded stern action against these institutions under rules. Speaking to media here today, NDPI Chief Rajesh Gupta said that several unauthorizedly run private coaching centres in Jammu, with heavy turnover of crores of rupees and involving big names, were openly indulging in loot by charging exorbitant fee while the authorities were maintaining stoic silence over the entire issue.
NDPI leader said, the coaching centers and tutorials era raised questions towards education standard of private schools. Are schools are not able to give good education in their respective schools? Why students should go to coaching centres? “Most of the coaching centres are running unauthorizedly and charge fee as per their sweet will while authorities are exercising no
control over them despite clear cut directions of the High Court of J&K in this regard,” he said and reminded that the HC has asked the Government to check the infrastructure of all such private coaching centres and fix the fee.
Rajesh Gupta further alleged that these coaching centres were taking huge amount of rupees as registration fee and also charging service charges under the GST regime owing to which parents were compelled to pay exorbitant charges and that too without any accountability. He demanded from the Education Department to carry out inspections of all the coaching centres and check their registration as well as fee structures. He also demanded stern action against all those coaching centres, which were running without registration and fleecing the students.
The NDPI president threatened to launch a massive agitation with the support of students and parents in case the Government fails to tame those unauthorized coaching centres.
